I bought this car 6 months ago with the intention of enjoying it at the weekend, which I did until I moved to Europe recently. I looked into shipping it to Europe as well but they REALLY tax luxury cars with big engines like you won't believe. Besides, transportation costs are not cheap. Add to that customs costs and I might as well sell this one and then buy another here in Europe. Here is how the previous owner advertised the car six months ago, here on eBay: Well-maintained 2003 Jaguar S-Type R. 400 HP Supercharged V-8, runs and drives perfect. Interior is in very good condition. The good: - New spark plugs and coil packs - Oil just changed (every 3,000 miles) - New front hubs and ABS sensors on all four wheels - Transmission recently serviced, new fluid, filter and seal. - No check engine light or gearbox fault lights - Bluetooth connectivity to stock stereo/navigation system - New tires and freshly powder-coated stock wheels - Windows, locks, sunroof, center console, everything works - Does not leak or burn oil - New battery - AC/Climate control works good, blows cold. Heater works well, too. - Zero rust What it needs: - Paint, most likely. Body is straight, never been in an accident, no dings or dents. But paint is faded, clearcoat peeled on some top surface areas (see pics) Other than that, this is a reliable, super fast and fun driver. All electronics work, nothing needs to be fixed [end of previous owner's description]. Most of what was said turned out to be true. After I picked up the car, in Missouri, I drove it to Southern California in a bit over one day, picked up some stuff I needed transported to Atlanta and then drove the car to Albany, Georgia in two days. It runs well and I did not have any problems except some electronic gremlins (ABS light came on in Colorado and stayed on till the next time I started the car; some other error lights did the same thing a couple of times. In addition, there is some oil leakage or burning (I am not sure; engine compartment does smell like burnt oil). I had to add about three quarts since I bought it and during this time I put about 5000 miles on the car, so not too bad. The previous owner serviced the supercharger at my request and expense prior to my picking it up (just change of the special oil--no bearings were replaced, but that may not be needed for a while as there are no funny noises coming from that area to indicate any problem). My cousin tells me that there is a puff of smoke at startup when the car is not being started at all in more than two weeks at a time. The car is presently in the yard of my house in Albany, Georgia but my cousin will be taking it to Atlanta soon. He has the title to the car and will hand over the paperwork, the car and one key to whoever wins this auction; there is a larger market there (car is also being advertised for sale outside of eBay; first come first served), hence its being taken to Atlanta. If you win the auction before the car is driven to Atlanta and prefer to pick it up in Albany, just let me know. Lastly, the not so small print: this is a 16-year old car. It is presentable (except the paint fading in some spots) and runs well. But there are no guarantees. PLEASE come and check the car in person before bidding, or have someone you designate make arrangements to do that for you. The auction starts at one dollar... it's just a pity for it to linger doing nothing before I come back to the US for the occasional visit, or for good. My loss is your gain, really. Any question, please ask BEFORE you bid preferably and most definitely before end of auction. Let's make this an as smooth and painless transaction as possible, please. Anyone with less than 10 feedback ratings or those with more but for trivial amounts, please give me some assurance you will pay if you win, else I will cancel your bid(s) and prevent you from bidding again--I really don't need to deal with re-listing, etc. PayPal deposit is non-refundable if you fail to timely pick up and pay in full as described herein.
